The eActros LongHaul shown at the IAA provides a glimpse of the design language of the production vehicle with clear contours and an LED light strip in the front area. Mercedes-Benz Trucks has also announced further information on the production eActros LongHaul. For example, three battery packs deliver a total installed capacity of more than 600 kWh, and two electric motors as part of a new eAxle generate a continuous output of 400 kW and a peak output of more than 600 kW. In addition to the tractor unit, Mercedes-Benz Trucks will also produce flatbed chassis variants of the eActros LongHaul right from the market launch. This offers customers numerous other possible applications in all-electric transport. The development engineers at Mercedes-Benz Trucks are designing the eActros LongHaul for the same vehicle and component durability requirements as a comparable conventional heavy-duty long-haul Actros. That means 1.2 million kilometers of mileage in ten years of operation. The eActros LongHaul will be the first all-electric series-production vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Trucks to be manufactured from A to Z on the assembly line already in place today at the Wörth truck plant. This includes the installation of all electrical components and the commissioning of the vehicle at the end of the line. This enables high production capacities and completely parallel production of both conventional and all-electric trucks on the same assembly line. For the eActros 300/400 and the eEconic, on the other hand, electrification has so far taken place in a separate process at the Future Truck Center in Wörth.
