The advanced design of the cockpit in the new BMW X7 results in a significant reduction of buttons and dials in favor of digital control of numerous functions. This modern, digital orientation is significantly shaped by the integration of a BMW Curved Display. It is composed of a 12.3-inch Information Display behind the steering wheel and a Control Display with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches, which merge into a single fully digital and high-resolution display unit under a common glass surface curved toward the driver. The BMW Curved Display is ergonomically clearly aligned with the driver to facilitate intuitive touch operation. At the same time, the front passenger also has the option of viewing the displays and controlling the system using the touch function as well as voice control and, optionally, BMW gesture control. The high-quality display technology with anti-reflective glass also makes it possible to dispense with a hood to shade the displays, giving the cockpit area a particularly uncluttered and airy appearance.
