Egger and Baum ride to second place in the first stage of the 4 Islands MTB Croatia

The opening stage of the 4Islands Croatia on the Croatian island of Krk offered almost perfect conditions with 72 kilometers of racing and 1530 meters of altitude. Nicola Taffarel and Massimo Rosa were able to beat their rivals and finish 57 seconds ahead of Lukas Baum and Georg Egger. They now lead the overall classification by 36 seconds. Miguel Munoz and Luis Martínez are in third place with 2 minutes and 13 seconds. Janina Wüst and Van Doorn won the 65-kilometer stage on their own with a lead of 3 minutes and 12 seconds ahead of Monica Calderon and Meritxell Figueras. Slovakia's Janka Keseg Stevkova and Martina Krahulcova finished in third place.
