The flu wave is starting unusually early this winter - and experts fear it could be more severe than in previous years. While increasing case numbers are already being reported internationally, Austria is focusing on a possible challenging season. The reason is a noticeably altered variant of the Influenza A virus H3N2: the so-called Subclade K.
