The cancer-stricken host Thomas Gottschalk initially did not want to see a doctor, according to his wife Karina. In early July of this year, she sensed that something was wrong with her husband, she told the 'Bild' newspaper: 'Thomas became increasingly quiet and pale and had to go to the toilet more often. That's not how I knew him.'
