Confidential Forensic Evidence: When no report is made immediately after violence

More than 180,000 women were victims of domestic violence in Germany according to official crime statistics in 2024, with over 50,000 women falling victim to sexual offenses. The number of unreported cases is high in both areas. Many affected individuals do not report or delay reporting – out of fear, shame, or uncertainty. The confidential forensic evidence collection by the ProBeweis network allows evidence to be medically secured nonetheless. The evidence is stored for at least three years and can be used later in criminal proceedings.
