A homebuyer bought a property with a house. Later, he discovered that some of the buildings on the property were constructed without planning permission. The buyer then demanded the seller to rectify the defects and pay damages. The seller refused, claiming that there were no defects or that he was not liable. The situation became complicated because some of the structures can now be built without permission - but not at the time of construction. The dispute revolved around the amount of damages claimed and the reversal of the sales contract. Two courts had to decide - and despite the complexity of the case, they agreed.
