With a statewide college construction offensive, the Free State wants to renovate dilapidated buildings and modernize infrastructure. Approximately 52 million euros are available for colleges in Middle Franconia. Planned measures include roof, facade, and window renovations, as well as investments in energy efficiency, accessibility, and digital infrastructure. The Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg alone will receive around 15 million euros, Erlangen University Hospital around 19 million euros, and TH Nuremberg more than 12 million euros. The Nuremberg University of Music, the Academy of Fine Arts, and Ansbach University also benefit from the funding. According to Minister of Science Markus Blume, initial smaller renovation measures have already been implemented.
