Tesla crash causes fire and hazmat response on Los Angeles roadway

A Tesla driver accidentally went offroad and crashed into a tree in Glendora, California on October 18. The vehicle's batteries caught fire and spread down an embankment. An initial hazmat response from concerns over the Tesla's batteries was cancelled, no evacuations were needed. The driver was freed from the car by fire crews and hospitalized with major injuries.
